Bowman offers two options for IRis Training: Online Training and On-Site Training.
Online Training
Bowman Systems has partnered with WebEx, a service which allows us to offer online workshops with a “live” instructor. All you need is a telephone and a computer with a browser connected to the Internet. This service works with any Internet connection speed, but a high-speed connection is recommended (i.e., cable, DSL, T1, etc.).

On-Site Training
In-person, or on-site, training is still available, as well! There are many benefits to having a certified trainer visit your facility. Some of these include the opportunity for one-on-one instruction, or brainstorming to determine whether you’re using IRis to its fullest capacity at your organization.
IRis training can be done at your agency, or another location of your choice. Certified IRis Trainers tailor the training sessions for each customer, so training is received on the areas in IRis that best fits their needs. Past sessions have focused on:

End-user (Call Operator / data entry) personnel.

Database Administrator / Supervisor personnel.
- Reports: Built-In reports and IRis Query (custom reports).
- Screen Designer (contact/caller screen customizations).
- Train-the-Trainer (intensive workshop for those who need to train others in their organization).
While at the site, some customers have asked the trainer take a look at their system setups in case improvements can be made to better fit the agency's operations.
Customers may hire a trainer for one-on-one training, or they may organize a training and invite several other agencies to participate and share the cost.
On Site Instruction Packages (at location of your choice*):
Cost covers up to 8 hours per day with instructor, their travel and meal costs, and up to 5 workbooks. 21-day advance notice required.
- One Day $1500
- Two Days $2250
- Three Days $3000
- Additional Workbooks $30 each
*The Customer is responsible for making arrangements for meeting facility, computer lab, etc. Instructor will consult with IT personnel to make sure software is ready to use.
Coordination of IRis training is handled by Bowman Systems’ in-house trainer, Janet Winston of Columbus, Georgia. With over 5+ years experience as a database manager instrumental in implementing 2-1-1 at a blended I&R/crisis center, Janet is a uniquely qualified IRis trainer.
