Using
IRis 2.3 and 3.0 at the same time
It
is possible to use both versions of IRis at the same
time. For instance, some agencies provide training on
IRis 3.0, and they need to use IRis 2.3 in the mean
time.
Data
from IRis 2.3 can also be used for training purposes
in IRis 3.0. In
order to do that, you will have to run “Convert.exe”:
To
convert data from IRis 2.3 to IRis 3.0:
- Locate
your IRis 3.0 main folder
- Find
the file “Convert.exe” and double click on it.
- Click
on the first “Change” button and
select location where your IRis 2.3 is located.
(i.e. C:\IRis 2.0)
- The
second field will show the lcoation of your IRis
3.0 data folder. If the location is not
correct then click on the second “Change”
button, and
select location of your IRis 3.0 data folder. (i.e.
C:\program files\IRis 3.0\data)
- Click
on “Okay” button
After
the data is converted, you can tutor-test IRis
3.0: add and delete records, setup Users and Groups,
run queries and so on. Once
you are ready to use IRis 3.0, simply locate
“Convert.exe” and run it again.
Note:
All data including Users and Groups setting
created in IRis 3.0 will be overwritten
whenever the “Convert.exe” is ran again.
