Keyword Groups

Instead of selecting individual keywords while searching, you can organize large number of related keywords into a group, and thus make your searches more effective. For instance, you can create a keyword group called Food for all keywords related to food services, such as Food Bank, Emergency Food, Meals, Soup Kitchen, and so on. Individual keywords can be also added to more than one group.

1.      Open IRis

2.      In Navigator menu click on Resource Management

3.      Click on Keyword Groups

4.      Click on “New Group” button and enter name of your keyword group (i.e. Food)

5.      Click on “Add Keyword” button, and select a keyword related to food services and click on “Done” button. Add all keywords related to food services, such as Food Bank and Meals.

6.      After you add all keywords to a Keyword Group, click on “Save & exit” button.

You can add a keyword group you have just created to any program exactly the same way you are adding keywords, except you “Select Keyword: by Groups”:

The same would apply when you Search for keywords. The only thing you have to do is select: “Show keywords as: sorted by Group”:

#1 Tech Tip

Q We just bought a new server. What is the best way to move IRis from the existing server to the new one?

A With IRis 2.3, all you need to do (after setting up the new server) is: Go to the IRis folder on the old server, R-click on it, select Copy, navigate to the correct drive on the new server, R-click and choose Paste.
