Updates and Workstation setup Update
We have two updates on our web site:
The first one is IRis 30
Updates. These updates are to handle any issues
plus adding new features to IRis 3.0
The other one is Workstation
Setup Update (if you have a Multi User site
license). This one you will download only when
you have a problem while setting up a workstation. Once
the workstation setup is ready, you don't have to worry
about this one.
Updating IRis is pretty much a simple
procedure, and you should do it on a regular basis,
let's say 1-2 a month. All updates are cumulative,
that means once you download the last update it will
also include all the previous updates, so dont worry
if you miss any updates.

3.0 Updates

Go to IRis 3.0 Help Online updates.

Click on "IRis
30 update download" link. This link will
also say the date of
the most recent update.

Download the update file called "Updatewizard" into
a folder that you can name for instance "IRisUpdates".

Make sure everyone is out of IRis and you have a
full backup before running the steps below!
a)
Select the Windows Start button, then select Run.
b)
Browse to the IRisUpdates folder.
c)
Select the file Updatewizard
you downloaded and click on Open.
d)
Select OK to run the executable file.
e)
The update wizard will ask you where your IRis 3.0 files
are located. Select the appropriate location. If you
have a multi-user version, IRis 30 folder will be located
on your server.
f)
When the update wizard is finished your update is
complete. If you have a multi-user version of
IRis, you do not need to update every workstation, only
the main IRis folder located on your server. Once you
update the main IRis folder, IRis will automatically
update every workstation for you.

Setup Update (only if you have a problem setting up
a workstation and are a Multi User)

Go to IRis 3.0 Help Online updates

Click on Workstation
Setup Update link
7.
Save Wksetup
file to the IRis 3.0 directory located on the SERVER.
IRis will ask you if you want to overwrite the
existing Wksetup file, click YES.
a)
Run the Workstation Setup using the IRis installation
instructions (Locate and run Wksetup
file from your workstation).
b)
You may be asked to locate the executable file IRis30.exe
on the server. If so, locate the IRis30.exe
on the SERVER where IRis 3.0 was installed.
NOTE: If you have already ran the Workstation Setup
before doing this update make sure to uninstall IRis 3.0
from the workstation before running the update.
