I
downloaded the PDF portion of IRIs, and it
installed fine.
The problem I’m having is getting the
file to save in a location and have it
consistently produce a successful PDF file.
After running a query, I choose the
“send the report to” option to PDF
Document, and under “Disk File Name” I
type the name I want the report saved as.
I have tried several different ways in
making this work.
I can not make any sense out of it.
Sometime the PDF file will have
contents in it and sometimes the file is
blank. Also,
I have tried choosing a specific location for
the file, it doesn’t seem to work.
The file keeps going directly to my C:\Winnt\System32
folder and I have to go to Start and Find and
have it search for the file to find it. |

PDF
file in Iris Query - unable to (1) name the
file and (2) select location where
to save when sending the report to PDF
Document. |

After
running a Query, it gives the option “send
the report to”, I’ve tried sending the
report to a MS Word 2000 Document, and it
gives me a blank Word document without the
query info.
Is this function working?
Also, the PDF document part doesn’t
want to work.
It asked me if I wanted to download
that function.
I answered NO to this download.
I have Adobe Acrobat on my computer and
was able to print the form to Adobe Distiller
which enabled me to get my query to a PDF
file. Is
there a way to get the PDF file to work
directly from IRis. Answer yes to have IRis
install the driver it needs. Once you do that
the PDF will work perfectly.
I will test the MS Word procedure and
let you know when it may be fixed or any other
information I can find out.
