3.0 Now Shipping
SunCoast
Custom Programming and Web Design is pleased to
announce that the most recent version of the
popular IRis software system is now shipping. Once
fulfillment of the pre-orders is complete, demo
orders will follow.
IRis is a
complete database-driven software system for local
or network PCs. The program is designed to
automate the activities and statistical reporting
of organizations that provide Information &
Referral, Client/Case Management services, and
Volunteer Management services to their
communities. The flagship product in the suite of
IRis Software Products, IRis is a powerful, yet

SunCoast Announces Release of
IRis 3.0 Beta
December
18, 2001 - SunCoast
Custom Programming and Web Design announced
today the release of IRis 3.0 to Beta-testing.
During the beta-testing phase, SunCoast and the
IRis Beta Testers will work together to ensure
that the upcoming IRis 3.0 Upgrade release is not
only stable, but powerful and comprehensive,
incorporating as many of the user-requested
features and enhancements as possible. Beta
testing, the final stage before the final
application is released, will provide SunCoast the
ability to address any remaining issues before the
application is released.
IRis 3.0 has been developed
using the latest versions of many of Microsoft’s™
most powerful and popular development
environments, (including C++, Visual Basic, and of
course, Visual Foxpro 7.0 -- the industry leader
in database storage and retrieval with integrated
rapid application development). Fully 32-bit
compliant, IRis 3.0 promises outstanding
performance on all of today’s most popular
Windows-based operating systems, including Windows
XP, 2000, ME and Windows 98SE and others. IRis 3.0
also promises full compatibility with MS Office
2000 products.
In order to more fully implement
a wide range of user-suggested modifications,
including a large number of new features, as well
as to take advantage of some newly released
technologies, and to ensure that the program is
fully tested in as wide of a range of environments

of IRis 3.0 is now rescheduled for late Spring
2002.

Meeting:
Tuesday, May 22,
7:30-8:30 pm. As past president of the IRis
Users Group, this meeting will be facilitated
by Sharon Fink of the Jewish Information and
Referral Service located in Washington, D.C.
Discussions will center on sharing information
about the current and future status of IRis,
its Users, and resource providers. The meeting

Users will be asked to share their requests for

Welcomes IRis Programming Team
April 30, 2001 - SunCoast Custom Programming
& Web Design today
released the names of the computer software
programming specialists
working on the IRis 3.0 upgrade. According to
SunCoast co-owner,
Cathy Richie, who is overseeing the project, Les
Pinter Consulting
Group of San Mateo, California will write the
main bulk of the
upgrade. Long considered an expert in the field
of computer
programming, Pinter brings 20+ years of
experience to the project.
Highly visible in the programming industry,
Pinter has written 5
books for McGraw-Hill, and has recently signed a
publishing deal to
write a 6th. He is also a regularly featured
speaker around the world
at various Microsoft seminars and conventions.
IRis development has always been a collaboration
between
professionals within the I&R community and
the programmers
themselves. To continue this tradition, SunCoast
is pleased to
announce that Jeremy Knox, I&R database
specialist at the Southern
Maine Aging on Aging, and Bruce Greenstein,
database manager at
the Center for Information and Crisis Services,
have agreed to join
the upgrade process. Deb Petty, Richie's partner
at SunCoast,
says, "Both Jeremy and Bruce are
unquestionably committed to
furthering the development of IRis. We welcome
them not only for
their experience within the I&R industry, but
also for their vast
technical expertise. We feel that their addition
to the IRis upgrade

Availability of IRis For The Web
IRis For The Web is now online and operational.
Check it out at www.irissoft.com.
As a way to thank past IRis For The Web clients
for their patience,
SunCoast Custom Programming & Web Design/IRis
Software Products is
making a special "free" hosting offer
through April 30, 2001.
Clients who haven't yet been contacted should
call or email the
SunCoast sales/marketing office.
A cost-effective way for IRis Users to put their
data up on the
Internet, IRis For The Web allows visitors to
perform "live"
searches of their resources. Users specify the
portions of their
database they want to be made available via
Internet access and, if
desired, can even choose to restrict entry to
their data by assigning
a login name and password. Once SunCoast receives
a User's database,
it is uploaded to the Internet within 24 hours.
The User then takes
control of maintaining their own web information
which they can
update as often as they wish. Maintenance is made
easy through a
desktop remote administration program that comes
with IRis For The
Web. SunCoast charges a low annual fee of $3,500
to host an IRis
User's database on its servers. For more details

SunCoast Signs
Purchase Agreement for IRis Software Products
Charlotte, NC,
December 13, 2000 -- Yesterday, SunCoast Custom
Programming & Web Design, owned by Cathy
Richie and Debbie Petty, signed an Agreement to
Purchase the IRis source code from Don Meuse and
Tim Flynn (original owners of Benchmark).
As the official
owners of the IRis source code, SunCoast will
immediately begin active marketing and sales of
the existing software applications: IRis, IRis
for the Web, and Directory on Disk. The company
will market IRis products, develop
upgrades/custom programming, and offer technical
support as IRis Software Products (a division of
SunCoast Custom Programming & Web Design).
IRis has been
long-considered the premiere software for the
Information & Referral industry. Launched
last year, IRis for the Web is an affordable way
for agencies to host their IRis resource data on
the internet. SunCoast is currently in hosting
negotiations and expects to have the web site
active within the next few weeks.
Richie, who worked
at Benchmark for five years in R&D and
technical support, will handle the technical and
programming aspects of IRis, while Petty, with a
background in advertising and office
administration, will take care of the
sales/marketing and administrative side of the
business.
SunCoast and The
Center for Information & Crisis Services have
formed a working agreement whereby IRis users can
contract with The Center for IRis training. Since
the conception of IRis, The Center has been
instrumental in furthering the development of
IRis. SunCoast is committed to continuing this
partnership with The Center.

Collaboration
SunCoast Custom Programming &
Web Design and The Center for Information &
Crisis Services have initiated discussions
leading to a "partnership" for the
continued support, sales, and development of IRis
software products.
There are still some details to
be worked out regarding this collaborative
effort. Our goal is to continue the marketing and
sales of: IRis 2.3 and all supporting products,
IRis for the Web (with improvements in the near
future), development of IRis 3.0 and web hosting
services. At this time we expect to be up and
running by mid-December with web hosting
available by the end of January 2001 or sooner.
We will keep all of you
up-to-date as developments occur. We have
withheld this announcement until this time, in
spite of the obvious discomfort being expressed,
in order to be sure we wouldn’t be raising
hopes too high, too soon.
